Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive way to communicate with the body, instead of working on the body. A conversation with the body takes place, full of respect for the horse as an individual. Carefully selected positions and gentle touches allow the body to rediscover comfort and to find its natural inner balance. The body and its energy can then be free of tension and stress.
The Ortho-Bionomy practitioner gently follows the body's inner rhythm, taking note of the existing muscle tone, in order to ascertain the natural posture and movement patterns. In this relaxed position, muscles and tendons can unwind, stress and emotional tensions can be released, leaving a deep feeling of peace and harmony. Old patterns of misuse can be replaced by long-term flexibility and comfort. New patterns of assurance and structural balance can be discovered.

What is a qualified Ortho-Bionomy
Practitoner trained to do?
The practitioner training worldwide is completed by treating people, not horses. However, after several years of practice I researched and transferred the knowledge I had gained of treating people to the horse and was lucky enough to be able to practice in a large competitive dressage and livery stable for several years. I then taught several highly successful courses to pass this knowledge on to owners, riders, equine physiotherapists and osteopaths.
The official Ortho-Bionomy training includes the following elements, which gives an idea of the wide variety of possible applications for the horse and for the person.
