I offer one- or two-day courses for Equine BodyHelp following the principles of orthobionomy for up to 8 people at your own stable. Experience with horses is a strict requirement, but no other therapeutic experience is necessary. You will be given a full detailed script with colour photos with easy to follow instructions that you can use in the stable after the course.
I am willing to travel to you to offer a workshop, demonstration, presentation or talk. Please get in touch if you should be interested. You must provide or arrange for at least one horse for every two people to practice with and at least one horse for demonstration purposes. Anybody willing to organise a workshop will be able to take part for free.
Opposite you can see a selection of photos from previous courses.
Recently, the owner of a horse filmed me as I demonstrated a treatment of the sacroiliac (SI) joints and the lumbosacral (LS) joint of an ex-racehorse. Text on the video describes briefly how the treatments are done as well as some of the reactions to watch out for in the horse.
The treatment of the SI and LS joints forms a part of the treatment of the whole pelvic girdle. including any rotation of the ileum and any misalignment of the pubic bones and the sacrum. This will help release any tension stored in the hindquarter so helping to relieve back pain and can potentially help with lameness in the hind legs.
Course 1
The Equine Pelvis
1-day course
at your stable
- date to be agreed
£150 p.P
(min. 3 participants not
including yourself)
Including the anatomy of the pelvis and surrounding structures; treatment of the ilium, ilio-sacral joints, ischia, sacrum, lumbosacral joint, the iliopsoas muscle and the pelvic floor following the principles of the orthobionomy.
Learn to feel if your horse is bent to one side or the other, and then learn to treat a misaligned pelvis, therefore helping your horse to move straight and in balance.
Course 2
Thorax Rotation
1-day course
at your stable
- date to be agreed
£150 p.P
(min. 3 participants not
including yourself)
Including the anatomy of the thorax (rib cage) and lower neck vertebrae; global treatment of the thorax, the shoulder blades, the first rib and the lower neck vertebrae following the principles of the orthobionomy.
Learn to treat a rotated thorax, which often occurs in combination with a misaligned pelvis.
Maybe you notice that your horse bends better to one side than the other. This is often caused by a misaligned pelvis together with a rotated thorax, the result then often being back pain, due to the twisted vertebrae in between.
